How Much is my Gold Worth?
There are basically two types of gold you could sell at Canada Gold Vancouver. One is gold bullion, and it represents in most cases, a standardized measurement of both the purity (karat) and weight of gold. These are usually gold coins, gold ingots or bars of gold. For Canadian Royal Mint bullion and the bullion from other trusted mints around the world, the value is simply a matter of authenticating that it is what it appears to be and then calculating the value based on market rates.
Jewellery, unidentified gold rounds, unknown gold currency and dental gold cumulatively represent the other type of gold people bring in to sell. What separates these items from bullion is that we can’t know in advance what the purity of the gold is, so these must be tested before we can make an offer. Some jewelry from high end manufacturers may be stamped with a karat, but even in these cases, we test the gold to ensure it matches the stamp.
We use the latest testing equipment to evaluate your gold and we do this in your presence, while we explain the processes involved. At the end of our evaluation, you’ll know exactly what you have and what we’re willing to offer you for it. Then, whether you choose to sell or keep your items is entirely up to you. Our evaluations are no-obligation and we never pressure our customers to sell their valuables.
